November 20, 1981. On Broadway Theatre, San Francisco. The Misfits at their snarling, undead peak.
Glenn Danzig front and center, Doyle slashing through riffs, Jerry Only locking down bass, and Googy behind the kit. This show happened upstairs while Black Flag was tearing up the Mabuhay Gardens downstairs—classic West Coast double-bill madness. The night kicked off with a screening of Plan 9 from Outer Space, then the band literally burst through the movie screen to start the set. Pure horror-punk theater.
This footage captures the band right in the sweet spot between Walk Among Us and the Evilive recordings—fast, aggressive, dripping with grave-dirt energy. The crowd is feral, the sound is raw, and Glenn’s voice cuts like a switchblade.
Key Tracks & Moments in the Set (as captured in this full audio/video):

- 20 Eyes
- I Turned Into a Martian
- Horror Business
- Night of the Living Dead
- Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?
- London Dungeon

This is the real Misfits live experience: no polish, no overdubs, just speed, horror, and attitude. Parts of this show were later used for the Evilive EP (tracks like “All Hell Breaks Loose,” “We Are 138,” “Horror Hotel”), but here you get the entire night as it happened—crowd chaos, stage energy, and every riff intact.
Turn it up loud and let the ghouls run wild. This is the sound of the Misfits owning San Francisco in 1981.
“We who live, are ever dead…” 😈🔥
